I believe that the key to success in therapy is to foster real, authentic connections. Deeper connection to your partner, yourself, your community, your past, and your future. My goal is to help each of my clients get in touch with these deeper parts of themselves to live more fully now.

Therapeutic Approach and Specialization

Taylor Anderson, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in couples therapy and treating individuals. Dr. Anderson is a Raleigh-Durham psychologist treating clients in all of North Carolina (NC). Dr. Anderson believes therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach and intentionally tailors treatment for each client’s specific need and style. She is skilled in treating a wide range of clinical problems and disorders including depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, PTSD, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem, communication difficulty, and interpersonal concerns.

Lasting Change For Individuals

Dr. Anderson works from numerous therapeutic models to promote lasting change for her client’s individual needs. She provides skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify core beliefs and negative patterns to foster change through building more helpful thinking and behaviors. Dr. Anderson also utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients work on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal relationships. Dr. Anderson focuses on the importance of self-care, intentional behaviors, connection, and mindfulness.

Couples Therapy

In addition to her individual work, Dr. Anderson specializes in, and is passionate about, working with couples. She has expertise working with couples struggling with communication, loss of connection, intimacy concerns, and building trust after a betrayal or affair. Dr. Anderson utilizes her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), to help clients move away from negative cycles in their relationship and move toward more positive and healthy interactions. Dr. Anderson is committed to helping you explore the root of your difficulties and assist in rediscovering the reasons you chose your partner. Working with Dr. Anderson, you will learn skills essential to keeping your relationship healthy through communication, trust, and intimacy.

Dr. Anderson believes in a collaborative approach to therapy, where feedback is a two-way street and continues throughout the course of treatment. She is committed to providing the highest standard of care, through evidence-based modalities. Dr. Anderson utilizes the therapeutic relationship as a feedback tool for insight development. Working with Dr. Anderson, you will feel challenged, yet always supported. Dr. Anderson takes a casual approach to therapy, without hindering the importance of evidence-based skills and work needed for therapeutic change.
